It's sprawling with cozy and culture. Cobblestone streets lined with colorful architecture and speciality coffee shops, a castle sits on top of a hill overlooking the city below (casual, right?), and a grand bridge which looks like it's been there since the beginning of time. It's a university city, which means it's bustling with young people, cute bars, and delicious food. Heidelberg is undoubtedly romantic, charming, and yes, oozes with a bit of whimsy.

That's where I come in as a Heidelberg Wedding photographer. I'm so lucky to be able to say that I've celebrated with so many kind-hearted couples celebrating all different moments of their life.

Whether it was a proposal (you would laugh at the amount of times I've had to hide in a bush!), anniversary, engagement, and pre and post-wedding photoshoots, Heidelberg always offers the dreamiest backdrop to celebrate in. It's got nature, beautiful architecture, and lazy walks along the river. I guarantee you'll love this picturesque town.

As for Nicholas and Julie's session, it was a perfect mixture between celebrating their wedding and a change to share Julie's childhood with Nicholas. This called for the perfect moment for a wedding photoshoot!

What is a wedding photoshoot?

That's a fair question! A wedding photoshoot offers you flexibility and ease, giving you the chance to get dressed in your wedding clothing again (yay for being able to wear your stunning clothing one more time!), and gives you a stress-free option to take photos in a beautiful location without the time constraint of a wedding day.

Seriously, it's always surprised me how much we try to pack into a single day.

Just think about it - In one day we pack in: Hours of getting ready, first looks, family photos, romantic photos, bridal photos, first dances, the ceremony (!!!), cake cutting, aperitivo! dinner! snacks! Visiting with relatives you haven't seen in years! Speeches! And so much more. It's a day filled with sooo much excitement, but with a packed wedding schedule, it can sometimes feel hard to stay present and take in each moment.

On a personal level, as a person who is committed to making an intentional life for myself, I just really like to spread things out a bit. So, from a mindfulness perspective, that's why I believe a wedding photoshoot is so great.

It gives you 1-2 hours to be with your partner on a day separate from your wedding, where you get to relive all the feelings of getting married, and make that magic last even longer. It's really a win-win. A deep breath. A time for fun. It was perfect for Julie and Nicholas, who were already married in California, but Heidelberg still held a deep sentimental value for Julie since she lived here as a child!
