Nuremberg Engagement Photoshoot & Vow Exchange in the Nuremberg Hauptmarkt, Kaiserberg, & Weissgerbergasse
Phew, where do I even begin with this gorgeous, sun-kissed, perfect autumn day we had for Amanda and David's engagement photoshoot in Nuremberg? I'll tell you what: Nuremberg put on a show, and after this session I was warm with love. Why? I guess that's just what happens after giggling across the city with two adorable humans all morning long. Let's get into the juicy stuff.
Amanda & David's Love Story
Amanda and David have the cutest story which genuinely one that belongs in a rom-com.
On a family vacation to Hawaii, Amanda fell so hard for the island that she went home to Ohio and promptly decided island life was for her. She couldn't fully explain it, she just knew. So she sold her belongings and moved across the country (and the ocean!) to start over in Hawaii.
Out of every apartment building on the island, she ended up in the one where her now-fiancé David happened to live. One look at him, and she knew. They started dating, and not long after, she'd already written her vows in her head. She was that sure.
Fast forward two years, and they're now living in Bavaria, engaged. After a weather delay pushed their shoot back a week, we ended up with the most gorgeous autumn day in Nuremberg. It also happened to be the exact date of their proxy wedding.
An Engagement Photoshoot with a Vow Exchange
Since it was the date of their proxy wedding, Amanda and David came to the session with their vows in hand. We headed to the famous Weißgerbergasse — the same row of colorful half-timbered houses used in Heta & Lucas' engagement session, widely considered the most beautiful street in Nuremberg, and I don't disagree. It made an incredibly special backdrop for reading their vows out loud for the first time.
I'll never push anyone into doing something they're not comfortable with, but I will say this: it made for some of the most meaningful images Amanda and David will keep for the rest of their lives! Camera-Shy to Cracking Up: Making the Session Feel Easy
One of my favorite parts of this session? How much David was dreading it beforehand. Genuinely, I can't tell you how common that is. It quietly stops a lot of couples from booking a session in the first place, and it always makes me a little sad, because the nerves almost never last.
By the halfway point, David was doing little jumps, sticking his tongue out, laughing so hard he could barely hold still for the camera. If you're the reluctant one in your relationship when it comes to photos, you're in very good company. It's exactly the kind of thing a relaxed, unposed session is built to melt away.
